Background
On April 19, the U.S. The U.S. Department of Education . The amended Title IX regulations, which will be effective on August 1, 2024, make several important changes to the processes K-12 schools use to address reports of sex-based discrimination, including harassment and retaliation, and to protections for LGBTQ+ students, employees, and parents. The rules now cover not just sexual harassment but also all types of sex-based harassment and discrimination. You can check out our summary of the changes here.
In partnership with Thompson & Horton LLP, we've also released our Superintendent's Guide to the 2024 Title IX Rules and the comprehensive report to ensure your district is prepared for implementation.

The guiding principle of 91制片鈥檚 Legislative Agenda stems from the important role the federal government stands to play in creating equitable learning opportunities for all students. Our legislative agenda adopted annually by our Governing Board and Executive Committee states that 91制片 supports federal policy that would prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity, including against transgender, intersex, and nonbinary students. As the stated goal of the proposed regulation is to prohibit discrimination, 91制片 generally supports the proposed regulation.
