91制片 Leads Letter Opposing Medicaid Cuts in Reconciliation

February 17, 2025

Today, 66 national education, disability, healthcare, child welfare, family organizations and their allies sent a letter to Speaker Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Thune to express their deep opposition to any major restructuring of the Medicaid program proposed in a reconciliation package that would jeopardize health care for the nation鈥檚 most vulnerable children: students with disabilities and students in poverty. Specifically, the letter argues that proposals to cap Medicaid spending or lower the federal Medicaid match rates, would renege on Medicaid鈥檚 50+ year commitment to provide America鈥檚 children with access to vital health care services that ensure they have adequate educational opportunities and jeopardize $7.5 billion in funding for school-based Medicaid services.

91制片 founded the Medicaid in Schools Coalition and is proud to organize this letter and along with our allies we will be working aggressively to convince Congress that the dismantling of the Medicaid program will disproportionately harm children鈥檚 access to health care, including services received at school.
