More people appear to be ascending to the superintendent position at an earlier age compared to a decade ago. A noticeably higher percentage of superintendents were in the 41鈥�50 age range (34.5 percent) in the 2024鈥�25 study compared to 29.8 percent in 2012.

The percentage of superintendents ages 60 and older decreased over the 12-year period from 19.5 percent to just 9.9 percent.
