AI APPLIED

As artificial intelligence reshapes conversations in education, I wanted to explore how it could strengthen, not replace, our school district’s strategic framework.

Before drafting Cold Spring School District’s 2025-26 AI Implementation Plan, we had already laid the groundwork. For more than a year, we invited teachers to explore how large language models could move beyond drafting e-mails and instead serve as thought partners in lesson design. Together, we examined how AI could elevate student engagement, differentiate instruction, and deepen inquiry.

We experimented with creative tools such as Suno AI for music composition, Gamma for presentations, Gemini Storybook for personalized reading, NotebookLM for synthesizing information, and Lovable for vibe-coding simple apps and websites. This exploration reframed AI not as a shortcut, but as an amplifier of teacher and student voice.
