Alexandria, Va. 2021 鈥 Feb. 26, 2021 鈥91制片, honored three outstanding educators today, including the immediate past president of the association, with its Distinguished Service Awards. A ceremony to recognize these individuals was held at 91制片鈥檚 virtual .

The 2021 honorees are Paul S. Andrews, retired superintendent of the Woburn (Mass.) Public Schools; Gary Kelly, retired superintendent of the DuQuoin (Ill.) Community Unit School District; and Deborah Kerr, retired superintendent of the Brown Deer (Wis.) School District and immediate past president of 91制片.

鈥淭he 91制片 family owes a debt of gratitude to our 2021 Distinguished Service honorees for the outstanding work they鈥檝e done on behalf of public education,鈥 said Daniel A. Domenech, executive director, 91制片. 鈥淓ach of the recipients has an outstanding track record when it comes to serving their school districts, communities and, most importantly, the students working and growing in these communities. Thank you, Paul, Gary and Deborah for being champions for children.鈥  
 
The Distinguished Service Award honorees are recognized by 91制片 for bringing honor to themselves, their colleagues and their profession; rendering exemplary service to their state or national professional association; and contributing to the education field through writing, public advocacy or other activities.

The National Conference on Education routinely convenes the most prominent education thought leaders addressing the most pressing issues in the education landscape. The ongoing challenges brought on by the public health crisis escalates the importance of a national conference where the leaders of our nation鈥檚 public school districts are attending.
